BTS Jimin FACE: Everything ARMYs need to know about his solo debut!

BTS Jimin new album FACE is finally out and we're all streaming it "Like Crazy"! Korea’s IT boy’s highly anticipated new album was finally released this Friday March 24th at 1PM (KST) and ARMYs are in love with it. After witnessing the obvious success of his new song Set Me Free Pt.2, we were all very curious of what would be coming next in this new chapter of the artist’s career. BTS Jimin - FACE, his very first solo album and therefore a stepping stone for his solo career without his fellow BTS members.

BTS Jimin - FACE album includes 6 tracks plus an additional surprise for BTS Jimin dedicated ARMYs. Each song has its own vibe, allowing ARMYs to enjoy the artist's voice through different genres and moods. BTS Jimin personally explained that his album is trying to convey the various emotions he could have felt throughout the pandemic, from anger to loneliness, and how he managed to pull himself out of those bad emotions to be where he is today.

1. Face-off

In a genre of trap soul, Face-off is the very first song of FACE's tracklist. ARMYs who have been around for some time must have recognized the famous tune BTS Jimin always plays when putting in front of a piano at the beginning of the song. Face-off is for sure a very contrasted song, mixing around the sweet voice of BTS Jimin with a more rebellious vibe that reflects a new side of the artist. What a great way to kick it off!

2. Interlude : Dive

The second one on the list is not quite a song but rather a dreamy instrumental sound, a compilation of different sounds that gives you that feeling of wandering BTS Jimin chose to express through his work. You can hear sounds such as water being poured or Jimin running around, which were cautiously selected by BTS Jimin in view of conveying that feeling of being lost and looking for one's way. Could you feel it too?

3. Like Crazy

Time for the title track! Like Crazy is quite a complex song and the main event of the whole album. The "dreamy intoxication" feeling BTS Jimin tried to convey through this synth-pop kind of song definitely made its way to our hearts. Leaving you with mixed feelings of somewhat both loneliness and euphoria, Like Crazy is hard to get out of your head. BTS Jimin natural dreamy voice couldn't have fit better with this concept and we understand why our boy decided to pick this one song to be the highlight of his work. And not only does Like Crazy have its own music video but it also has its own official fanchant, so ARMY, you know what you have to do.

Fun fact: The English quotes that can be heard at the beginning and the end of the song are extracts from the movie "Like Crazy" that inspired BTS Jimin for his song of the same name.

4. Alone

On a sweeter and calmer tone, this melancholic R&B song perfectly emphasizes the precious vocals of BTS Jimin and allows ARMY to appreciate every nuance of his unique voice. BTS Jimin harmonizing with his own vocals is a blessing to our ears and we keep asking for more. The deep and raw lyrics that come along are just as mesmerizing.

5. Set Me Free Pt.2

Do we really need to introduce that one to you? Set Me Free Pt.2 is the hip-hop highlight of the album and a pure blessing to ARMY's ears. Set Me Free Pt.2 shows a very different "face" of Jimin, with wilder vocals, visuals and more explicit lyrics, opening up a new chapter for his artistic career where he breaks out the limits of what he can do. Just like its fellow track Like Crazy, Set Me Free Pt.2 also has both its official music video and fanchant that ARMY can learn in order to cheer up their favorite boy.

6. Like Crazy (English Version)

No need to look too far I-ARMY, Jimin's got your back! Like Crazy (English Version) is the only song on the album that is entirely in English. International ARMYs must be excited to have a song originally interpreted in English by Korea's IT boy. With this one, you can be sure that BTS Jimin message didn't get lost in the translation process. 

Bonus. 편지 : Letter Ft. Jungkook (Hidden Track)

Surprise~! Yes, it's not over. We're sure that you were as surprised as we were when we found out that our sweet Jimin had prepared another gift for ARMY. To those who have bought a physical version of the album, you can listen to this love letter from Jimin to ARMY as a conclusion to the album. And as if that wasn't enough, Jimin's fellow BTS member Jungkook's voice can also be appreciated along with his older brothers. If you were still wondering whether it was worth it to go for a physical copy of this first Jimin solo album or not, you have your answer. 

BTS Jimin - FACE is nothing less than a work-of-art and every piece of it deserves true recognition. It is clear that Jimin gave it his all while making his first solo album and his hard work cannot be unnoticed. Great job Park Jimin! "You nice, Keep going!" We'll always be rooting for you!
